Lumen Monitor does not collect data. The readings stay on the Mac.

Updated 3 October 2026.

What the app reads

On the Mac where it is running, Lumen Monitor reads CPU use, memory use, free space on each physical disk, battery state when a battery is installed, upload and download rates for the network interface you select, swap use, memory pressure, load average, time since startup, and per-core CPU use. It uses those numbers only to draw the menu bar item, the window, and the widgets.

Where the numbers go

They stay on that Mac. The app has no account, no analytics, and no advertising. It does not send readings, settings, or history to a server, and it does not sell or share them. Peak limits and history are stored in a folder on the Mac that the app and its widgets share. Nothing in that folder is transmitted.

Network

The network reading is the change in bytes sent and received on this Mac, so the widget can show a rate. Lumen Monitor does not look at the contents of network traffic and does not upload that rate.
